Severe Storms Possible Wednesday Night

NWS Paducah

The National Weather Service is warning of possible severe storms Wednesday night (June 17) and Thursday morning (June 18) in the Evansville area

We’ll be keeping an eye to the sky for potentially severe storms Wednesday night. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Wednesday afternoon and evening, with the risk of severe storms to follow.

Forecasters say scattered storms are expected to spread across the Tri-State between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m.

They say damaging winds, tornadoes, and large hail will all be possible, along with locally heavy rain and frequent lightning.

The weather service has placed the immediate Evansville area at a Level 2 – or slight – risk of severe weather.

The risk is Level 1 – or marginal – for western Kentucky.

Rain chances decline on Thursday, with sunny and cooler weather expected on Friday, Juneteenth.
