File

A crash involving a semi and passenger vehicle on I-69 in northern Vanderburgh County claimed a life early Wednesday morning

One person is dead after a crash on I-69 in northern Vanderburgh County Wednesday morning. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

It happened at about 5 a.m. on the interstate, just north of Boonville-New Harmony Road.

The Sheriff’s Office says a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle — both traveling northbound — collided.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.

The driver of the truck was not injured and submitted to a chemical blood test.

Investigators say there was no indication that
alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.

An accident reconstruction team shut down the northbound lanes of I-69 for several hours, diverting traffic onto Boonville-New Harmony.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office had not released the identity of the deceased as of midday Wednesday.
