A man has been arrested after a crash in Dubois County that claimed one life and injured two children. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Authorities say 36-year-old Dana Strohmeyer of Jasper died in Wednesday evening’s crash on State Road 64, west of State Road 161.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office says two juveniles in Strohmeyer’s vehicle were taken to Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
Investigators say a pickup truck crossed the centerline and collided with Strohmeyer’s vehicle, sending it down an embankment.
Dana Strohmeyer died at the scene.
The driver of the pickup was identified as 37-year-old Nathan Simpson of Perry County.
The sheriff’s office says sobriety tests showed Simpson was under the influence.
He faces a charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Resulting in Death, a Level 4 Felony.
More charges are expected to be filed.
