Authorities have arrested one suspect and are looking for two more after a fatal shooting on Evansville’s West Side. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested 19-year-old Kardae Langley in connection with the shooting on the AMC Theater parking lot Tuesday evening.
The sheriff’s office says Langley told detectives that he and two other men, 19-year-old Deshawndre Brown and 18-year-old Pierce Butler, were driving to meet the victim to buy vaping cartridges.
But on the way, he says Brown announced he had a gun and was instead going to rob the victim.
Langley told detectives that Brown and the victim got into an argument that ended in gunfire, killing the victim.
The victim’s name had not been released as of midday Wednesday.
Deputies arrested Langley and were still looking for Brown and Butler.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to contact the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Noah Robinson called it a “senseless tragedy” and he thanked Evansville Police and Indiana State Police for their assistance.
