Authorities have identified the man who was shot by police when an attempted car-stop turned into a pursuit. WNIN’S John Gibson has the update:
The Evansville Police Department says Travis Michael Turner was wanted on warrants out of Kentucky.
Officers tried to stop a car driven by Turner at Weinbach and Covert avenues late Wednesday afternoon.
Police say he got out of the car, fled on foot, broke into two nearby houses, and stole a pickup truck.
Officers fired at him when police say he nearly struck them with the truck.
Turner got out of the truck, was arrested and treated at a local hospital before being booked into the Vanderburgh County jail.
He faces a litany of charges.
