Authorities say a house fire that injured a person on Evansville’s North Side was arson. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
Firefighters responded to the blaze in the 2800 block of Edgar St., near First Avenue and Diamond, Friday afternoon.
The Evansville Fire Department says crews found smoke coming from multiple parts of the home.
The EFD says firefighters got it under control within minutes, but the fire damaged the property and sent one person to a local hospital.
Investigators later determined the blaze was intentionally set, and a criminal investigation is underway.
Anyone with information about the fire or how it may have started is encouraged to contact the Fire Department’s Arson Tip Line at 812-436-4464.
