The Princeton Police Department and Gibson County Sheriff’s Office are joining forces to investigate serious accidents. WNIN’s John Gibson explains:
The two agencies have announced the creation of the Major Accident Investigation Team, or MAIT.
They say the joint task force is designed to strengthen the response to serious and complex motor-vehicle crashes.
The new team brings together specialized investigators, advanced accident-reconstruction technology, and resources to ensure that major incidents are handled with the highest level of expertise and efficiency.
Princeton Police Chief Bobby Wood says “collaboration is the key to effective public safety.”
He says by combining resources and standardizing response, the agencies can better serve the residents of Princeton and Gibson County during “critical and stressful moments on our roadways.”
The team will also take part in ongoing joint training.
