Two Evansville residents are in custody after a nearly 90-mile police pursuit through southern Indiana. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Indiana State Police say the chase began in the Bloomington area and ended at about 9:40 a.m. on southbound I-69, just south of State Road 168, in Gibson County.
Police blocked traffic along the interstate in both directions and quickly took one person into custody.
Another person eventually got out of the truck and was arrested.
Police later identified the two as 27-year-old Geonovan Bailey and 25-year-old Tiona Sullivan, both of Evansville.
The suspect vehicle struck at least one car during the pursuit, with speeds topping 100 miles an hour.
Police deployed stop sticks which deflated the vehicle’s tires and police were able to direct the car into the median.
There was no word of injuries.
The ISP says Bailey and Sullivan were throwing a substance out of the vehicle during the chase.
Police say they confiscated a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.
Bailey and Sullivan face charges of Possession of Meth, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Obstruction of Justice.
