A judge has sentenced Larry Richmond Sr., 47, to life in prison for killing Evansville firefighter Robert Doerr in 2019

A judge has sentenced a man to life in prison for killing Evansville firefighter Robert Doerr. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

47-year-old Larry Richmond Sr. was sentenced Friday (Feb. 13) to life-without-parole for Doerr’s death in 2019.

A jury convicted Richmond in December and recommended the life sentence.

Doerr's wife, Elizabeth Fox-Doerr, was also convicted in the case and sentenced to 90 years in prison.

Prosecutors said Richmond and Fox-Doerr were having an affair and they conspired to fatally shoot Doerr.

The firefighter was shot outside his home and died at the scene.
