The coroner’s office has released the name of the Newburgh teen who was struck and killed on I-69. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
Vanderburgh County Coroner Bryan Underwood identified the victim as 14-year-old Nathan Thomas Snyder.
He was struck by an SUV early Monday while walking on the interstate near the Covert Avenue intersection.
Snyder was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The coroner says autopsy results are pending.
The sheriff’s office says the driver of the SUV fully cooperated with deputies and submitted to a chemical test following the crash.
Investigators said drugs or alcohol were not believed to be a factor.
