BRIDGE to Conduct Jail Diversion Meeting

The group Building Respect and Integrity in Diverse Greater Evansville – or BRIDGE – will conduct a forum on mental health and jail at Evansville's Central Library.

A community forum is set for later this month to discuss mental health and jail diversion. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:

The group Building Respect and Integrity in Diverse Greater Evansville – or BRIDGE – will conduct the forum.

Bridge says attendees will hear from law enforcement leaders and mental health providers about how they divert people with mental health crises from jail and connect them to the services they need.

Attendees will also hear from local community members who will tell their stories of mental health and incarceration.

There will be limited time for public comment.

Those who don’t get a chance to speak can submit written comments.

The forum is set for Wednesday, February 11, from   6-to-7:30 p.m. in the Browning Room of  Evansville’s Central Library.
