Vanderburgh County, IN jailer Hezekiah Fils-Aime faces charges for allegedly fleeing police and crashing a car

A Vanderburgh County Jail Officer faces charges of fleeing police. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

The Sheriff’s Office confirms that Hezekiah
Fils-Aime was arrested after Evansville Police say he fled from a traffic stop on Highway 41 Saturday night.

Authorities say the pursuit ended when the car Fils-Aime was driving crashed near State Road 57.

After being notified of the arrest, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office placed Fils-Aime on administrative leave pending further review.

In a statement, Sheriff Noah Robinson the agency has “zero tolerance for misconduct and a well-documented record of holding our own accountable.”

The criminal investigation remains under the authority of the Evansville Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office says it will fully cooperate.
