Woman Accused of Pepper Spraying Food

VCSO
Kourtney Stevenson, age unknown

A Kentucky woman is accused of putting pepper spray on a Door Dash order in Vanderburgh County, Indiana

A Kentucky woman is accused of putting pepper spray on a Door Dash delivery in Vanderburgh County. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

Kourtney Stevenson of McCracken County faces felony charges after two people told the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office they became sick while eating food delivered to their home on December 7th.

The pair said they both experienced a burning sensation in their mouth, nose, throat and stomachs – and began throwing up.

Investigators say a review of doorbell camera footage showed the Dasher place the food on the porch and take a picture before spraying a substance in the direction of the food from a small aerosol can.

The sheriff’s office says Stevenson told investigators she was trying to spray a spider, not the food.

She was visiting her father in Evansville and working Door Dash during the visit.

The probe led to Stevenson’s arrest in McCracken County on charges of Battery and Consumer Product Tampering.

She’s expected to be returned to Evansville.

Sheriff Noah Robinson says residents should be able to trust that the food they order for their families is safe.

He says when someone violates that trust and endangers others, the sheriff’s office will respond with urgency and pursue charges.
