The Tri-State is facing bitter cold temperatures and possibly more snow this weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:
Evansville received about an inch of wet snow Thursday evening, while areas north of the city saw larger amounts and areas to the south saw less or none at all.
The National Weather Service says the entire Tri-State will see the coldest temperatures of the season – so far – this weekend.
Saturday’s high is forecast to be around the freezing mark with a high in the mid-teens on Sunday.
Single-digit temperatures are forecast Saturday and Sunday nights with bitter cold wind chills throughout the weekend.
Forecasters are calling for chances of snow on Saturday, with the highest amounts north of the Evansville area.
The polar vortex is expected to move out of the area on Monday with temperatures expected to climb into the 40’s by Tuesday.
