An officer-involved shooting killed Everett Nunn, 58, of Evansville

A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

EPD Sgt. Anthony Aussieker says officers were dispatched to a home on Louisiana Street, just east of N. Main St., Saturday night.

The caller said her son and husband, 58-year-old Everett Nunn, were about to fight.

When the first officer arrived, a female on scene said there was a gun in the home.

Aussieker says the officer then confronted Nunn, who had what appeared to be a gun pointed in the officer’s direction.

Aussieker say the officer gave commands to put the gun down before discharging his service weapon at Nunn.

Nunn was wounded and taken to Deaconess Midtown Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office scheduled an autopsy for today (Mon).

An investigation continues.
