Indiana State Police at the Jasper post say the K-9 "Barker" died unexpectedly; foul play not suspected

Indiana State Police are mourning the loss of a four-legged helper. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The state police post in Jasper says the K-9 named “Barker” was found deceased on Saturday due to “unforeseen medical reasons.”

Foul play is not suspected.

The ISP says Barker was a loyal partner to Trooper Jacob Lauer.

The post says Barker proudly served the ISP as a dual-purpose K-9, trained in both patrol duties and narcotics detection.

Troopers say Barker assisted in numerous criminal investigations, narcotics seizures, suspect apprehensions, and community demonstrations.

They say the dog’s service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
