A former state senator from Evansville hopes to represent southern Indiana on the state’s utility board. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
Bob Deig is seeking an appointment to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
The commission rules on rate cases across the state and has recently approved rate hikes for CenterPoint Energy.
Deig says southern Indiana needs representation on the commission to keep utility rates in check.
He says he’s one of ten people seeking a seat on the commission and he urges residents to contact Governor Braun’s office.
The governor appoints members to the utility commission.
