Police to Collect Drugs, No Questions Asked

File

Indiana State Police will collect expired and unused prescriptions at the Evansville Post this Saturday

Indiana State Police will conduct a “Prescription Drug Take Back” this Saturday. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:

The “Take Back” initiative seeks to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through proper disposal of expired and unused prescriptions.

The Drug Enforcement Administration sponsors the program nationwide.

The ISP Evansville post on Highway 41-North will collect liquid and pill medications Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Vaping pens will also be accepted as long as batteries and vaping cartridges have been removed.

Needles will NOT be accepted.

Police say the disposal service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.

Experts say unused or expired medications in home cabinets are highly susceptible to theft, misuse, and abuse.
