Driver Dead after West Lloyd Crash

Friday morning's crash on Evansville's West Lloyd Expressway killed the driver of an SUV

A person is dead after a crash on the West Lloyd Expressway. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

It happened at about 8:30 Friday morning on the westbound Lloyd at McDowell Road – in the Lloyd4U construction zone.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says the collision involved a semi and an SUV.

The sheriff’s office says the driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital, where they later died.

The coroner’s office had not released the victim’s name as of Friday afternoon.

Authorities say the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and cooperated with deputies.

In accordance with Indiana law, the truck driver submitted to a chemical test and consented to a drug evaluation.

A crash reconstructionist responded to the scene and traffic was diverted during the on-scene investigation.
