A crash on the West Lloyd Expressway claimed the life of an Evansville woman. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Vanderburgh County Coroner says 72-year-old Pamela J. Appel died after Friday’s crash on the westbound Lloyd at McDowell Road – in the Lloyd4U construction zone.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says Appel was driving an SUV that collided with a semi.

Authorities say an ambulance took Appel to Deaconess Midtown Hospital, where she later died.

Authorities say the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and cooperated with deputies.

In accordance with Indiana law, the truck driver submitted to a chemical test and consented to a drug evaluation.
