Unusually cool weather has moved into the Tri-State. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The National Weather Service says temperatures will remain below average with some of the lowest humidity levels ever recorded this time of year.
The agency in Paducah says if the forecast holds, the Tri-State will see the longest stretch of sub-80 degree temperatures in August in the past 12 years.
Forecasters also say if we have six straight days of lows in the 50s it would be the first time that’s happened in August since 2004.
Just slight chances of rain are in the forecast for the Evansville area later this week.
While that may sound good for outdoor activities, no rain would raise the risk of a drought.
In the meantime, the weather service says “Go enjoy it!”
