On excessively hot days, Easterseals Early Learning Center students have to play indoors. July and August have had a string of hot days, keeping children inside with alternative activities like the parachute activity, July 29.

The heat index is forecast to reach triple-digits in the Evansville area through Tuesday

A late summer heat wave continues in the Tri-State. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The National Weather Service’s Heat Advisory continues through Tuesday in the Evansville area.

Forecasters are calling for afternoon highs in the mid-to-upper 90’s with the humidity making it feel more like 100-to-110.

The weather service says drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, stay in air-conditioning as much as possible, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

If you must be outside, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing and if possible, limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.

And take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
