Evansville Police say officers arrested two men who broke into Franklin Lanes with the intent of raiding the bowling alley's ATM

Evansville Police say two burglars “struck out” during a break-in to a bowling alley. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

EPD Sergeant Anthony Aussieker says officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm at Franklin Lanes on W. Franklin St. just before 2:00 a.m. Friday.

Aussieker says the officers found an open rear gate and a door that had been pried open.

Officers say they spotted a man in the upstairs area of the business who ran off when confronted.

Police say they eventually found two male subjects in the building and took them into custody.

The EPD says the two suspects, Jonathon Randolph and Isaac Smith, admitted to entering the business with the intention of stealing money out of the bowling alley’s ATM.

Police say they found a bag of tools the suspects used to break in and to try to open the ATM, along with illegal drugs.

Officers took Randolph and Smith to the Vanderburgh County jail.
