Authorities will set up a checkpoint in the Evansville area Thursday night and Friday morning, looking for impaired drivers. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Traffic Safety Partnership says it will conduct a sobriety checkpoint from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
As usual, authorities are not disclosing the location.
They do say the spot was selected based on traffic crash data collected during the first half of 2025.
Analysis revealed several areas within Vanderburgh County with a disproportionately high number of hit-and-run crashes, many of which are suspected to involve impaired drivers attempting to flee the scene.
The partnership says the checkpoint will be set up in one of those high-risk areas.
