Forecasters have extended the Heat Advisory through at least Friday. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The National Weather Service says temperatures are expected to top 90 degrees for the next six days.
The heat index is forecast to reach triple digits many of those days.
Forecasters say scattered showers and thunderstorms may provide some brief relief during the period.
The weather service urges us to stay hydrated, take advantage of air conditioning, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
When outside, wear lightweight and loose clothing, limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening, and take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
