Authorities have arrested an Evansville man for the death of a Gibson County man more than 30 years ago. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
Indiana State Police and the FBI arrested 61-year-old Timothy Farber in connection with the death of Norman Ellerbrook in 1993.
The ISP says investigators recently revisited the unsolved case. Ellerbrook was found deceased at the bottom of basement stairs in his Warrenton home.
An autopsy revealed Ellerbrook, who was 63, died from blunt force trauma to his head. He was also stabbed multiple times.
The ISP says DNA evidence helped detectives link Farber to Ellerbrook’s death.
Police arrested Farber Tuesday afternoon as he walked on Fulton Avenue, near Maryland St., in Evansville.
Officers took him to the Gibson County jail, where he’s being held without bond.
