Heat Wave Moves Into Tri-State

NWS Paducah

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Evansville, IN area

Mother Nature is turning up the heat again. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Evansville area. It’s in effect through Thursday.

Forecasters are predicting high temperatures in the low-to-mid-90’s through the period with the Heat Index topping out around 105 each day.

Portions of southern Illinois and western Kentucky, including Marion and Paducah, face a more dangerous Extreme Heat Warning.

The weather service urges everyone to limit time outdoors, drink plenty of water, and take advantage of air conditioning.

Also, check up on relatives and neighbors and double check for children and pets in vehicles.

This is historically the hottest time of year for Evansville, with the 30-year average high around 90.
