VCSO: Don't Be a Victim of Auto Theft

VCSO

July is Vehicle Theft Prevention Month and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office is offering tips

July is 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗳𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Officials say more than 850-thousand vehicles were stolen in the U.S. last year.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office urges you to “lock out crime” by following some simple tips.

They include parking in well-lit areas, closing and locking all doors and windows, and keeping valuables out of sight.

Also, don’t leave your keys in the vehicle; and never leave an unattended vehicle running.
