Officials say more than 850-thousand vehicles were stolen in the U.S. last year.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriffโ€™s Office urges you to โ€œlock out crimeโ€ by following some simple tips.

They include parking in well-lit areas, closing and locking all doors and windows, and keeping valuables out of sight.

Also, donโ€™t leave your keys in the vehicle; and never leave an unattended vehicle running.
