A jury found Bobby Michael Handegard not guilty in the death of Evansville deejay Shane Breedlove

A jury has acquitted the man accused of killing Evansville deejay Shane Breedlove. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Jurors found Bobby Michael Handegard not guilty of murder for the 2015 killing Friday.

The verdict followed a weeklong trial in Vanderburgh Circuit Court and came nearly ten years after Breedlove was shot to death while walking to work on Evansville’s East Side.

Handegard and others were originally charged in the case back in 2015 but those charges were eventually dropped due to a lack of evidence.

After Friday’s verdict, Handegard’s legal team said it was pleased with the jury’s decision and expressed hope that the Breedlove family will find justice and peace.

Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Diana Moers said in a statement that she respected the jury’s decision, but her office stood by the evidence it presented in the trial.

Breedlove worked as a deejay and sound man, and was a father of six.

He was walking to his job at K.C.’s Timeout Lounge when he was shot and killed.
