We’re keeping an eye to the sky today for potentially more severe weather. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The National Weather Service has placed the Ti-State at a Level 3 – or enhanced – risk of severe storms Wednesday afternoon and tonight.
Forecasters say the biggest threats are high winds and large hail.
They say the tornado risk is “very low” but they are calling for “numerous” severe storms in the region.
The weather service says its storm spotters will likely be activated.
After the storms move out, forecasters are predicting a big warm-up.
Summer officially arrives Friday night, and right on cue, the hottest and most humid weather of the season is forecast over the weekend.
Temperatures are expected to top out in the low to mid 90’s Saturday and Sunday with the heat index reaching triple-digits.
