Slow moving thunderstorms dumped torrential rains and spawned a small tornado in the Evansville area over the weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The National Weather Service says a storm Friday evening triggered an EF-0 twister that caused damaged but no injuries on Evansville’s West Side.
Rainfall amounts of three to five inches fell in a period of one to two hours, flooding numerous roads and parking lots on the West and North sides.
Several drivers had to be rescued.
More heavy rain Saturday evening caused flooding on Evansville’s East Side and in the Newburgh area.
Showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast through Thursday.
