A young Evansville man is dead and one person is in custody after a party that ended in gunfire. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office identifies the victim as 19-year-old Israel Mays.
He died at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital after the shooting in the 300 block of Taylor Avenue early Sunday.
Coroner Bryan Underwood says results of an autopsy are pending.
Evansville Police Sgt. Anthony Aussieker says when officers arrived on scene, they learned that shots were fired outside the venue as people left the party.
Multiple people were hit by gunfire including Mays, and at least one person was struck by a vehicle.
