A law enforcement source estimated a crowd of up to 15-hundred along Martin Luther King Blvd. and on the plaza in front of the Denton Federal Building.

The protesters carried signs, chanted slogans and listened to a number of speakers concerned about what they see as President Trump moving his administration toward authoritarianism.
Sandra Nguyen was among the protesters along MLK:
"Deporting people without due process, Social Security, Medicaid for people that can't afford to pay their bills now. How are they going to afford them after these taxes or tariffs?

Indivisible Evansville President Wendy Bredhold said she was overwhelmed by the turnout:
"I think this demonstrates how alarmed people are, that people came out in this weather. Honestly, I thought the participation would have been literally dampened but as you can see that was not the case."

The event ended with singing:

The protest was held just hours after political violence in Minnesota that left a state legislator dead and another wounded, and just hours before a military parade in Washington D.C. watched by President Trump and a crowd estimated at 200-thousand.
More: Independent estimates put the crowd in Washington well below 200,000. The event was held in rainy weather.
