A driver has been arrested after hitting a pedestrian in Ft. Branch. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Gibson County Sheriff’s office says it happened Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Locust and Walters streets.
Sheriff Bruce Vanoven says deputies determined that a car hit a pedestrian who was on a scooter in the roadway.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene and flew the pedestrian to an area hospital for treatment.
There’s no word on the name or condition of the injured person.
Vanoven says the driver of the car, 30-year-old Jon Roeder of Fort Branch, was driving while his license was suspended for a prior conviction.
Roeder was transported to Deaconess Gibson for a blood draw and to be medically cleared before he was transported to the Gibson County Detention Center.
He faces a charge of Driving While Suspended.
