Authorities have released the names of the three people killed and a fourth who was wounded in a Gibson County home last week. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
A police affidavit says 77-year-old Patrick Waite is accused of fatally shooting his wife, 61-year-old Alma Waite, 39-year-old Fernando Tapia Ramirez Sr., and 81-year-old Gloria Garcia Tapia.
The affidavit identifies Fernando as Alma’s son and Gloria as Alma’s mother.
Authorities have also identified the surviving gunshot victim as 43-year-old Juan Tapia Ramirez Jr.
Gibson County Sheriff Bruce Vanoven says the shooting occurred inside a home in the 12-thousand block of S. Scottsdale Drive near Haubstadt last Thursday night.
The affidavit states Patrick had been married to Alma for about two years and had been discussing a divorce and ownership of the house before the deadly rampage.
Police also say a juvenile was in the house during the shooting.
Patrick Waite surrendered to authorities without incident.
He faces charges of murder, attempted murder, and battery.
