A western Kentucky man is dead after authorities say he hit and tried to hit people with his pickup truck. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office says 61-year-old William Holmes left his home Saturday afternoon and drove into a neighbor’s yard in the 200 block of West Lake Loop.
Officials say Holmes then hit his neighbor, 48-year-old Shannon King, who was raking leaves in her front yard, before driving into the back yard of another neighbor’s property.
They say Holmes tried to run over another neighbor and the neighbor’s child, but they were able to get out of the way.
King was taken to Baptist Health Deaconess, and then airlifted to another hospital.
The sheriff’s office says Holmes then headed towards Madisonville and went north on I-69 where he was involved in another collision in Webster County.
Holmes died in that crash.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s office and Kentucky State Police continue to investigate the rampage.
