A tornado hit Princeton as severe storms rolled through the Tri-State Thursday afternoon. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The National Weather Service confirms an EF1 tornado with winds up to 105 miles an hour touched down in a Princeton neighborhood.
Weather Service personnel are surveying the damage.
The heaviest damage was in the area of Seminary Road and Oak Street.
The twister ripped off roofs, knocked downed trees, and took down utility lines across several blocks.
Authorities say there were no injuries and everyone has been accounted for.
The storm damage prompted officials to cancel classes Friday at North Gibson schools.
More: Princeton officials say tree debris from the storm can be placed between the sidewalk and curb. Other debris can be placed in temporary dumpsters that have been placed on E Pine & N Race for use by effected residents. No liquids, chemicals or tree limbs should be placed in the dumpsters.
