The City of Evansville has launched a new METS bus tracking system. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Officials say the METS My Ride website has gone live.
Director of Transportation and Services Todd Robertson says his team has been working since April 2024 to get the best system in place for Evansville.
The new site allows residents to see when their bus arrives and the seating capacity on the bus.”
Robertson notes new devices on the buses allow METS to determine which stops passengers are using the most.
He says it will help with planning future shelters and benches.
It also tracks ridership and other metrics reported to the Federal Government.
The new bus tracking site can be found at metsmyride.evansville.in.gov
In the next few weeks, the METS My Ride App is expected to launch in the Apple and Google Play app stores.
