At its peak, about 20,000 electric customers lost power during Wednesday night’s storms according to CenterPoint Energy. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

The National Weather Service issued a constant stream of Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado warnings for the Tri-State.

The high winds downed trees, limbs, and power lines.

There’s no word of any injuries in our area.

As of Thursday morning, about 9,000 CenterPoint customers were without electricity in southwest Indiana.

Kenergy’s outage map showed about 100 customers in the dark in Henderson County and more than 200 without power in Union County.

Less than an inch of rain was recorded at Evansville Regional Airport, but a Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday.

Aside from the flooding, the weather service says more severe storms will be possible Friday night and Saturday night.

The National Weather Service in Paducah says it has “a lot of damage surveys to do.”

The agency says it will update any tornado information as it becomes available.
