The Tri-State saw heavy rain, gusty winds, intense lighting and some hail -- but NO tornadoes Sunday night. WNIN’s John Gibson has a recap:
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch and numerous severe thunderstorm warnings but no twisters were reported in the Evansville area.
The storms caused scattered power outages and Kenergy reported hundreds of its customers still in the dark early Monday morning, especially in Daviess County and points east.
Higher winds were reported south of the Tri-State.
Meanwhile, the weather service is looking to Wednesday for another chance of severe storms.
The agency has placed the area in a Level 3 – or enhanced – risk of severe weather for Wednesday.
Forecasters say the area faces a Level 4 -- or moderate -- risk of heavy rain and flooding.
The weather service says the Evansville area could see 8-to-10 inches of rain from Wednesday through Saturday.
