A major economic development group has adopted its strategy for the next five years. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership – known as E-REP – says its 2025-to-2029 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy is a roadmap to strengthen economic resilience, expand workforce opportunities, and secure access to federal economic development funding.
The strategy was developed by consulting firm Fourth Economy, in partnership with E-REP and with the support of a federal grant.
The planning process was guided through a 25-member strategy committee and included 40 stakeholder interviews, 65 participants in 16 workshops, and nearly 200 public comments.
Recommended actions include developing key regional Infrastructure; strengthening key Industries; attracting, retaining, and developing a talented workforce; and leveraging “signature developments.”
It also positions the region – encompassing Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties – to pursue designation as a federal Economic Development District.
