Forecasters say they remain “quite concerned” about the potential for severe storms on Friday. WNIN’s John Gibson has the latest:
The National Weather Service says if the forecast holds, a broken line of severe thunderstorms is forecast to develop over central Missouri Friday afternoon and evening and then track east towards the Tri-State.
Forecasters at the Paducah office warn of storms with wind gusts of 70-75 mph and at least a few tornadoes.
The weather service has raised the threat level to a “moderate risk” in southern Illinois while remaining an “enhanced risk” for the Evansville area.
Forecasters say southwest Indiana and western Kentucky face a “slight risk” of severe storms on Saturday before cooler air moves in on Sunday.
