Area Switches to Daylight Saving Time

Clocks should "spring forward" one hour Sunday morning

We “spring forward” this weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson has this reminder:

(Opens with Pink Floyd’s “Time”)

Daylight Saving Time officially begins Sunday at 2 a.m., when clocks spring ahead one hour.

For clocks that don’t automatically make the change, you may want to set them ahead one hour before turning in Saturday night.

The change is designed to provide more daylight in the evening during the spring and summer months.

The amount of daylight will continue to increase until the summer solstice June 20th.

The hour we lose this weekend will be paid back in early November when the U.S. returns to Standard Time.
