The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious accident on the West Side. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
The sheriff’s office says a vehicle struck a pedestrian who was lying in the westbound lanes of the Lloyd Expressway near Red Bank Road at about 3:30 Thursday morning.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
There was no word on the victim’s name.
The sheriff’s office says witnesses reported seeing a person in dark clothing walking in the area prior to the crash.
A reconstruction team was called to the scene to help with the investigation.
The probe shut down the westbound Lloyd – in the construction zone -- for more than two hours.
The lanes reopened at about 6 a.m.
