With some area rivers out of their banks, forecasters are warning of heavy rain this weekend. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
The National Weather Service says this week’s rain and snow will be followed by heavier precipitation, especially Friday night and Saturday.
Forecasters say the immediate Evansville-Henderson area could see two-to-four inches, with three-to-five inches possible to the south and east, including Owensboro and Madisonville.
Flash flooding will be possible.
Meanwhile, a Flood Warning continues along the Ohio River at Newburgh and Mt. Vernon.
Forecasters say the new rainfall could cause additional river, creek, and stream flooding.
The rain may mix with or change to snow on Sunday, as colder air moves into the Tri-State.
