Tuesday's collision at U.S. 41 and St. George Road killed Haley Crumb and Brent McKinney, both 24, both of Evansville

Authorities have released the names of two Evansville people who died in a crash after fleeing police. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office says Haley Crumb and Brent McKinney, both 24 years old, died in the crash at Highway 41 and St. George Road Tuesday afternoon.

Evansville Police say officers stopped the SUV on 41 near Lynch Road but the vehicle took off.

It traveled north on 41 before colliding with a semi at St. George Road.

Crumb and McKinney died at the scene. No one else was injured.

The EPD says officers turned off their lights and sirens before the fatal crash but the lead officer did follow the vehicle in an attempt to monitor the driver’s actions.

Police say after the collision, officers tried to render aid to Crumb and McKinney but they were pronounced deceased.

More: The crash and investigation blocked northbound traffic on 41 for nearly two hours.
