Predicted snow accumulations in the Tri-State are on the rise. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The National Weather Service now says the Evansville area could see three-to-seven inches of the white stuff.
A Winter Storm Warning goes into effect at midnight Thursday and continues until midnight Friday.
Forecasters say there’s always a window for surprises in winter storm systems, but the modeling and meteorological signals with this storm have been more consistent than usual.
The new storm follows an ice and snow storm that has closed schools, made travel hazardous, and caused widespread power outages.
CenterPoint Energy says it has restored power to all but about 3,400 customers in southwest Indiana.
That’s down from more than 60,000 Monday morning.
Forecasters are warning of significant impacts on the roads for Friday.
They do say the new storm will be all snow, not ice.
