The Gibson County Coroner’s Office has released the identities of the two people found dead in a burning house. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The coroner’s office says 51-year-old Malisa Kegg and 34-yr-old Michael Kegg III died of gunshot wounds to the chest.
Their bodies were found at the fire scene on State Road 64 near Francisco Tuesday morning.
Malisa Kegg is the former wife of 53-year-old Michael Kegg Jr., who has been charged with two counts of murder for the deaths.
Authorities say the two were shot before the fire.
Kegg Jr. turned himself in and is being held without bond at the Gibson County jail.
Sheriff Bruce Vanoven said evidence at the scene indicated “the fire was not accidental."
Vanoven also asked residents to check their home and business surveillance systems for video footage for any suspicious activities on December 30th and 31st.
