Winter Storm Still Headed for Tri-State

NWS Paducah

A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow is expected to hit the area on Sunday

A winter storm is still on track to hit the Evansville area, starting Sunday. WNIN’s John Gibson has the latest:

A wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow is expected to spread across the region, and reach the Evansville area on Sunday.

Areas south of the Tri-State are expected to see freezing rain transition to rain later Sunday afternoon.

Areas north of Evansville may see more snow than ice.

The National Weather Service cautions there is still a lot of uncertainty.

Forecasters say the precipitation types may shift north or south over the next day or two.
