Gibson County Sheriff's Office
Michael Kegg, Jr.

Michael Kegg Jr., 58, of Decker is accused of murder after two victims were found at the fire scene

A man is in custody, charged with murder, after two people were found dead inside a burning house in Gibson County. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

Sheriff Bruce Vanoven says deputies arrested 53 year old Michael Kegg Jr. of Decker on New Year’s Day.

Kegg is being held in the Gibson County Jail after two people were found deceased at Tuesday’s fire scene in the 7000 block of East State Road 64, near Francisco.

In a release, Sheriff Vanoven said evidence collected at the scene indicated that the death of the two individuals was “intentional, and the fire was not accidental."

Authorities have not yet released the names of the two people found dead in the home.

Autopsies were scheduled for Thursday.

Vanoven is urging residents to check their home and business surveillance systems for video footage for any suspicious activities on December 30th and 31st.

The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by Indiana State Police.
