Shooting in Lynnville Leads to Chase, Arrest

A Missouri man, Eli Gunden, 28, is accused of shooting into a woman's car at a gas station

Early morning gunfire at a Lynnville gas station has led to the led to the arrest of a Missouri man.

Indiana State Police say it happened at the Casey’s station on State Road 68 in Lynnville just after midnight Monday morning.

Investigators say 28-year-old Eli Gunden drove up to a woman in her car and made an “unsolicited comment.”

The ISP says the female didn’t respond and Gunden pointed a handgun from inside his vehicle and fired two rounds into her vehicle.

The woman not hit or injured.

Police say Gunden fled the scene in an SUV.

A short time later, the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle on I-64 and a pursuit began.

The ISP says Gunden eventually pulled over on Highway 231 but refused to get out of the vehicle.

After about a two-hour stand-off, police say Gunden exited the vehicle without incident.

He was taken to the Spencer County Jail where he’s being held without bond.

Gunden faces numerous felony charges.
